On Day 2, our Year 5 GAF children have enjoyed a workshop with the Royal Ballet in Birmingham. They learnt a dance based on motifs from Still Life at the Penguin CafĂ©. Following this, each group choreographed their own âmini dancesâ using 2 or 3 of the motifs and warm up exercises they were shown. They then put each groups dance together to create the final performance.
They are currently learning all about how the orchestra compliments the dancing and choreography; Jake and Daniel were thrilled to have a go at being a conductor themselves!
Our Year 5 Griffins continued their morning playing musical instruments, considering how to imitate the sounds of different animals. During the afternoon, they have then enjoyed a live performance of Demon Dentist before returning to Nicholas Chamberlaine for this evenings delicious dinner! Now onto watching Matilda…
