>> PUPIL LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Pupil Leadership Team is chosen at the end of the year from Year 5 children, ready for them to take up their positions from the start of Year 6. There are a variety of roles to make sure that children with different skills, views and levels of confidence are able to contribute. We have Heads, Deputy Heads, Prefects, Inclusion Prefects, Heads of Sports and Sports Leaders, who all take part in the Pupil Leadership Team, bringing their chosen topics to the table for discussion.

Year 5 children who want to be considered for the PLT submit a video for all children in the school to watch. They decide which strand of the PLT they wish to be considered for: Sport or more general duties, but not the specific role. It is their chance to articulate to their peers the contribution they can make. Open elections are held via a secret ballot, to ensure that children feel truly able to vote for the person they think will do the best job.

The discussions within PLT meetings are communicated to the rest of the school via video clips created by the PLT members themselves, to make sure that all children in school can access them. The PLT suggestion box is there to receive comments back.

The PLT is constantly evolving in response to the views and creative ideas of our Griffins, just as it should!

As well as our Pupil Leadership Team, we also have our Junior Leadership Team consisting of class representatives from Years 2-5. These children play a role in representing their class views and sharing these with our Pupil Leadership Team.
