Despite some classic British weather, our Year 3 campers have had an absolutely spectacular time on their school camping adventure! Rain certainly didn’t stop the fun, as the children dove into a packed schedule of indoor and outdoor activities with high spirits and endless excitement.
The adventure kicked off with some fantastic indoor archery while we waited for the outdoors to dry up. Once outside, the children channelled their inner scientists and Minecraft experts, learning about friction by using flint and steel to light fires. After refuelling with a delicious BBQ dinner of burgers and hot dogs, it was time for an epic survival game—where the teachers even managed to get some friendly revenge with water guns!
As the evening rolled in, the playground came alive with a vibrant silent disco, complete with a massive conga line. We then gathered around the campfire to toast marshmallows and build gooey s’mores, followed by a thrilling game of hide-and-seek in the dark. Because the field became a bit too boggy and chilly, we made the exciting decision to move the campsite indoors. The children were thrilled to pitch their tents inside the school hall, getting cosy with snacks to watch a film together before enjoying a night of sleep after a busy, memory-filled day.
This morning started with plenty of smiles and perhaps a few tired faces! We jumped straight into the action with our very own Bushtucker Trial activity, inspired by I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! There was an abundance of bravery, lots of laughs, and some truly unforgettable facial expressions. The children then refuelled with a well-deserved breakfast to get ready for the rest of their morning adventures.
