This morning, our Griffins had an exciting assembly to launch our new rocket readers project. All of our astronauts have started their journey today. Their mission? To read daily and record their reading in the space log! Every time they read at home, they accrue space air miles. After a specified number of reads, they land on a planet and (after completing their mission report) receive a badge and certificate. Our aim? To reward and celebrate the daily habit of reading and sharing stories.
A temporary version of the reading log should have been sent home with your children this evening and a more official (and long lasting) book will be sent home in due course.
We thank you in advance for encouraging your children to read regularly – daily for just for 10 mins will have an incredible impact on their academic attainment and understanding of the world! All books, newspapers, comics count!
The first planet stop is Mercury in just 20 reads – let’s get reading Griffins!
