To consolidate their learning on farm life, Reception visited Ash End Childrenās Farm where they got to see first hand how a farm operates. The children experienced feeding lots of animals by hand including sheep, goats, and ducks as well as visiting all of the farmyard animals and meeting their babies, some of which had been born the morning of their visit. The children saw chicks, lambs and bunnies which they were able to hold and stroke and were amazed to learn how big the pigs and cows were up close.
Following this, Reception enjoyed a delicious lunch in the barn and explored the newly opened play centre. They throroughly enjoyed showing off their beautiful singing voices to the guides who were impressed with their range of farmyard nursery rhymes.
Finally, the day was topped off with a tour of the chicken coup, where they each picked their own freshly laid egg to take home!
