PCSO Workshop – Year 6

Today, Year 6 took part in an engaging workshop led by our local PCSOs about hate crime and the importance of inclusion and respect.
The session began with Griffins looking at images of different people and discussing who they might want to be friends with and who they would potentially avoid. Later, they read more about each person’s story and realised that their first impressions often changed — helping them to understand how unintentional bias can affect the way we see others.
The children also heard about a real-life case study to learn more about what hate crime means and the impact it can have on individuals and communities.
It was a valuable session that encouraged thoughtful discussion and helped our pupils reflect on fairness, empathy and the importance of celebrating difference.
