In an exciting two-part opera workshop, Year 3 and Year 4 children delved into ‘The Magic Flute’.
Firstly, they learned about the opera’s plot and familiarised themselves with some of its iconic songs. Secondly, the focus shifted to the creative elements of theatre, where the children engaged in set and prop design. They worked together to design and construct a 3D serpent puppet, bringing a key element of the opera to life with their own artistic flair. The workshop combined music, storytelling, and hands-on creativity, offering the children a well-rounded introduction to the world of opera.
