On NSPCC Number Day, ten talented mathematicians from Years 3 to 6 were selected to represent the school in an exciting Mathletes Challenge against five other schools. The children were split into two teams—a Year 3/4 team and a Year 5/6 team—and took part in seven different challenges designed to test their problem-solving skills, teamwork and mathematical thinking. Each task required the pupils to think outside the box, spot patterns and relationships quickly, and apply their knowledge under time pressure.

The children demonstrated excellent collaboration, resilience and determination throughout the competition, supporting one another and tackling each challenge with enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud to share that the Year 5/6 team achieved an impressive 2nd place, while the Year 3/4 team secured 5th place. This was a fantastic achievement for all involved, and every pupil who took part should feel extremely proud of their effort and success! Well done Griffins!
